Welcome to the Party for South and South-West England

Values

Devolution

We believe in a creating a devolved Assembly for the region we call “Wessex,” which includes or is otherwise known as “the South-West,” “the Great-West” or the “West Country.”

Vital democracy

We believe in a democracy which is present in manifold areas of life and which finds manifold expressions. The freedoms of the press and to protest are vital to a thriving democratic culture.

Environmental stewardship

We believe it to be in humanity’s enlightened self-interest to protect and preserve for natural world around us, acting with care to preserve the environment and green space.

Community ownership

We believe that natural monopolies should be run and owned by the public, for the public – not managerialist state socialism, but independent, democratically-run, public business.

Ethical politics

“That which is morally wrong cannot be economically or politically right.” We formulate and commit to policies according to the principles of equality and fairness.
